Winelands Family Practice opened in 2009 in a converted house on the edge of Paarl, and it has stayed deliberately small. One doctor, a practice nurse and two receptionists who know most patients by name.
Dr Naledi Khumalo qualified at the University of Cape Town and worked in district hospitals in the Boland before opening the practice. She is registered with the HPCSA and sees adults and children for general medicine, chronic care and minor procedures.
Consultations are booked for fifteen minutes, longer for procedures or several concerns. You leave knowing what was found, what happens next and what it will cost. Chronic patients are reminded when a review is due so scripts never run out.
Patients come from Paarl, Wellington, Franschhoek and Klapmuts. Most medical aid schemes are claimed directly; ask reception about yours when you book.
